Notify partner/contact trace - to prevent re infection and prevent complications in asymptomatic contacts
Infects any columnar epithelium - urethra, cervix, rectum, pharynx, conjunctiva

Genital Herpes
There is also urethral discharge, dysuria, urinary retention

Papules form around genitals, anus, throat which burst into painful ulcers
Treatment: analgesia, topical lidocaine, antivirals

There are increasing rates of diagnosis - 2x for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, genital herpes, syphilis since 2006
