The Church of England

If the pregnancy will lead to the death of the mother during the development of the foetus or delivering the baby it can be terminated
If the foetus is terribly disabled to the point where its life will be permanently affected and will have severe difficulty doing minor tasks it is also allowed
The church recognises that, in trying to respond to the severe situations with compassion, individuals may arrive at different decisions.
It believes that there area other, more applicable alternatives to abortion, for example, adoption.
