The Play-Doh Bakery allows the students to construct shapes and figures to display their knowledge about important cultural symbols and literary figures. Toaster ovens will be available for the students to use to polish their figures. They can even use the Play-doh Bakery to help them create stories with their figures.

The Lego Station is a safe area for kids to use their imagination and build robots and machines that they think will assist them in their learning. The Lego station also gives them an opportunity to use these toys to practice some of their basic geometry skills by building shapes.

Here a child's imagination can be explored in all different ways. Not only are the paints washable and easy to clean up, but children are free to mix colors and let their brushes go with their minds. In Watercolor World, kids can take their peers and teachers to other worlds full of creativity and fun!

Throughout the year, students will be allowed to draw pictures of their best memories in the classroom and use the materials to decorate the pages. Not only will they learn to make a scrapbook, but they can figure out the different color and design patterns that go with each page. They can even share some of their favorite stories and bring photos from home.

Sewing is an essential skill for not just girls but boys too. Not only is it helpful to know how to make garments, but one must know how to make necessary repairs. The sewing station will contain everything from needles to thread, fabrics, buttons, zippers, etc. There will even be a list of rules and safety precautions that the students will read before proceeding.
Welcome to Ms. White's Makerspace map. Here we have five tools that will be used in her classroom this year. Since Ms. White is teaching 1st grade this year, she wants to give her boys and girls the opportunity to let their creativity and imaginations wonder while learning valuable skills. Most importantly, Ms. White wants to create a safe learning environment for her students and is willing to go over some basic safety rules. These rules include following Ms. White's directions with handling needles at the sewing station and always wearing oven-mitts when using the toaster. It is important to Ms. White and her class that everyone has an opportunity to explore their creativity and share it with our friends!
