Investigations
Culture: casts (suggests damage to kidney epithelium), bacteria

Urine dipstick: blood, glucose, leucocytes, nitrates, ketones, PH, protein. Don't use in pregnant women

Treatment

Non pregnant women
For upper UTI, give broad spectrum antibiotics
If there are three or more symptoms of cystitis, treat with antibiotics for 3 days
