1215
Magna Carta is a very famous document made in Europe.
It is the idea of protecting peoples' rights. It also says if someone is accused of crime, they must have a fair trial.

This was a peace treaty between New France and the First nations.
It ensured respect between the two groups, and stopped war between them.

The Royal Proclamation
The British made this after the 7 years war. The Proclamation gave the First Nations rights to their land.

This is a very important part of history. This is when slavery was abolished throughout the British Empire

Numbered Treaties
These were 11 treaties made between settlers and First Nations.
These treaties allowed the transfer of land from the First Nations to the Crown in return for different promises laid out in the treaty.

Sufferage Bills
These bills were very important to women.They allowed women to vote in Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

Persons Act
This act was also important to women. It entitled women to be members of the Senate.

Repel of the Chinese Exclusion Act.
This ended the exclusion of Chinese people. Before this Act Chineses had to pay higher taxes just because of their race.
