5 day fever & myalgia
Day 3: diffuse, blanching erythematous rash
Viral Infection
Measles
Erythematous macules, papules: 1. face 2. trunk 3. arms legs. Koplik spots: bluish-white dots on mucosal surface
cough, coryza, conjunctivitis
Rubella
Pink>red macules, papules: 1. face 2. neck 3. trunk, extremities. Petichiae on palate, uvula
pharyngitis, conjunctivitis, cough, lymphadenopathy (bef rash)
Dengue
malaise, chills, severe headache, myalgias, and retro-orbital and lumbosacral pain, nausea/vomiting, nose/gum bleed, lymphadenopathy
- facial flushing and blanchable erythematous mottling
- pruritic morbilliform rash first on the trunk and then extends to the limbs and face.
Chikungunya
myalgias, severe headache, retro-orbital pain, and photophobia
- flushing of the face and trunk
- progresses to macules, erythematous papules on trunk and extremities.
associated with painful small joint polyarticular arthralgias.
Zika
Widespread nonspecific erythematous macules or slightly elevated papules (1. face 2. trunk and extremities)
petechiae and bleeding gums. Peripheral edema, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain
