Regular Verbs – Simple Past Tense

Most verbs in English are regulars that form the Past Tense adding the suffix –ed to the Present: he worked. However, this ending is only added to affirmative sentences.
“Did” is used for negative sentences and questions as well for short answers as the only sign of past tense.
Example: She did not buy. Long Negative Answer.
She didn’t buy. Contraction Form.
Did she buy? Question.
