- - - - Population – Nurses who work 12.5 hour shifts in the hospital setting
      - Intervention – Hiring more nurses will decrease how many patients a nurse will get and decrease the hours a nurse will work in a shift
      - Comparison – Nurses who work 12.5 hour shifts v. nurses who work 8 hours
      - Outcome – Decrease in overworked staff members due to the long hours, and a safe environment for patients
      - Time – Could be determined during a 1-6 month period
        
        During the timeframe, the data that would be gathered from the nurses & patients would include:
        
        the nurses' level of stress
        
        how heavy they felt their workload was during the shifts
        
        overall patient satisfaction with the nurses' performance
      - PICOT Question – Does decreasing the number of hours nurses work per shift increase patient satisfaction, and will this lead to higher nurse satisfaction?
