MECHANISM OF ACTION
Sibutramine produces its therapeutic effects by inhibition of norepinephrine , serotonin and to a lesser extent, dopamine reuptake at the neuronal synapse
promotes a sense of satiety and decrease in appetite, thereby reducing food intake.

RIMONABANT
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Rimonabant is the first in a new class of agents that acts as blocking cannabinoid with resultant central and metabolic peripheral effects, thereby decreasing food intake.
INDICATIONS
This is the selective blocker of CB1 receptors that is used to normalise the activity of endocannabinoid system resulting in weight loss, also reduce waist circumference, improvement in lipid and glucose metabolism in obese people and prevent weight gain.
