Gothic essay : we may wonder to what extend gothic fiction is still a popular genre ?
introduction
the notion myths
and heroes
myths : to find a reason to explain that science can't

famous charcters --> become
myths and part of collective culture
examples : dracula and frankestein
characteristics of
classic gothic fiction
18th century in england
: authors tried to reveal
societal problems
using dreadful themes
and supernatural elements
plots = sordid/terrifying
stories based on death elements
skeletons/ blood
not funny
characters ever more
weird in the course of
the stories
RIB / dracula/frankenstein
similarities and differences
between
first dracula and modern
gothic fiction
differences
loneliness (dracula)
places :
penny dreadful = london centre
and all people are concerned about
the disaster which is going to happen
(dracula = forest
and abandoned from god)

gothic movie and tv series
there are today
entertainment
but i love more books
catch our attention
with our imagination
they respect more stories
and plots of 18th century
conclusion
it moved with the times to entertain teen who needs bearings
universal genre which speek to everybody
to my mind
i like GF
suspense with outlandish decriptions
i dislike read
much G books
because they accept the death and it's not a pb so to me i don't accept to die and see other poeple die
GF would not be an account of all the horrors committed by humans in previous centuries
