Graffiti over the course of the years have been identified as a symbolism closely related with gangs. People that live in the inner-city have now a permanent proof of how cruel and difficult is the condition they live in and they are constantly reminded of that.
Being done without an official permission at all, they are of course illegal and their continuous production just make the crime rate worse a worse.
Not every art is equal from the other,there are a lot of ways of expression as well as ways of thinking. If street art goes in the "wrong hands" it is able to communicate such negative messages. Artists nowdays uses Street art not as a medium but as a personal self-advertisement. That being said, if people would really start to consider street art as real way of expression and as an exemple for the community, instead of leaving their names written on a wall, everything would be easier. Trust me.

Street art is classified as a damage of personal propriety. But streets aren't a personal propriety.
