The Crusades
What were the crusades?
They were a series of wars that were fought throughout Europe and the Middle East between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries.
It the wars, Christians fought against non- Christians and heretics.
It mainly centred around the Holy Land, having the Muslim Turks as the main enemy.
It's said that Crusaders only began calling themselves Crusaders in later in the Thirteenth century.
