Personhood
For Peter Singer to say that the word person is the same as a human being is incorrect and is speciesist.

Cons to the Argument:
implies some external judgement to assess the patients mental health because if unwell, they are not fully autonomous.

if there are no explicit instructions on what to do the worry of ending the life may not only disregard the principle of the sanctity of life but may also lead to a slippery slope where euthanasia is practiced more widely

is there a distinction between medical intervention to end life and the medical intervention to end a life?
Hippocrates states that it would be wrong for a doctor to do something that would cause death to a person.
But in other writings goes on to say that it would be pointless to treat those overcome with a disease which medicine cannot cure.

Natural Law & Euthanasia

Applying Natural Law
key precept of NL is preservation of life, and the idea that life is intrinsically valuable and should not be cut short
NL is dependent on the Divine Law, which is revealed by god. Key texts like the 10 commandments seem to go against Euthanasia
it would be hard for someone to say they worshipped God, one of the five primary precepts, if they were shortening a life
arguably the practice of euthanasia would undermine the stability of a society, a society where life is not valued is not ordered.
