cladribine
mechanism of action
as purine analogue
rapidly taken to proliferating cells like lymphocyte
to be incoperated into DNA synthesis
cladribine has a chlorine molecule at position2
which renders it partially resistant to breakdown by adenosine deaminase
deoxyadenosine triphosphate by enzyme deoxycytidine kinase
molecule is then incorparated into DNA synthesis pathway
where it causes strand breakdown
side effects
infection
anuria
severe neutropenia
neurotoxicity
neutropenia
contraindications
hypersensivity to this drug

intravenously
subcutaneous
