Skeletal System & Joints
-
Types of bone cells
A. Osteogenic cells- differentiate and reduce to stem cells and osteoblast. Found in endosteum and periosteum.**
B. Osteoblast-creates extra cellular matrix , harden with addition of minerals
-
**Osteoclast-Multinucleate formed from several leukocyte, microvilli for secretion enzymes that breakdown bone tissue,

A typical synovial joint
Inner layer of joint capule- Bursa reduces friction--> Areolar connective tissue--> synovial membrane--> produces/secretes synovial fluid--> fill the joint cavity, slippery fluid(friction the joint)--> slippery benefits - reduces friction provides nourishment
Hyaline cartilage- Articular cartilage, location condyle

1.Fibrous Joints- AkA articulation (multiple bones coming together)
Sutures- come together due to inter connecting fibers
Location: Skull only when they articulate there is no movement. Fontanelles( soft spots)- babies have it-membrane between cranial bones before they ossify or come together completely
B. Syndesmosis(es)- Dense connective tissue, stabilization and support, tibiofibular joint, little to no movement
C.Gomphoses- where tooth meets mandible/maxilla, in alveolus space , periodontal ligaments , immovable
