Domino Theory- The idea that countries would fall to communist like dominoes toppling over, one after another.

Dwight Einhower- President after Harry Truman who ends the Korean War
Cuba
General Batista- US supported leader of Cuba who is hated by Cubans.
Fidel Castro-A revolutionary communist who gained popular supported of the Cubans
Bay of Pigs Invasion- The US attempt to overthrow Castro by arming 1,700 Cuban exiles.
Cuban Missile Crisis- October of 1962, president Kennedy & Nikita have a standoff about the placement of nuclear missiles on the island of Cuba.
Vietnam
Ho Chi Minh- Communist leader of North Vietnam fighting for Vietnamese.
Ngo Dinh DIem- US supported leader of South Vietnam, very anti-communist.
Hanoi- Capital of North Vietnam.
Saigon- Capital of South Vietnam.
Defoliate- Strip all leaves from trees and plants.
Napalm- A jelly like substance that is highly flammable in bombs. Used during the Vietnam War.
