Main Findings
1) Hotel employees’ perception on work-life balance issues with the highest mean are: a) Enough time-off from work.
b) Allegiance to work.
c) Workplace support and work-life balance.
d) Flexibility on work schedule
2) The underlying dimensions influencing hotel employees on facing the work-life balance dilemma begin with how benefits that are consider as family-friendly is adequate to deal with employees’ long and irregular working hours.
3) Factors that affect overall perception of work-life balance:
a) Enough time-off from work.
b) Workplace support on work-life balance.
c) Allegiance to work.
d) Flexibility on work schedule.
e) Life orientation.
f) Voluntary reduction of contracted hours to cater for personal needs.

4) Hong Kong hotel industry needs to inaugurate the new work scheme to stay relevant in global marketplace as 5-day work in a week is the norm in many economies. Paradigm shift in workforce attitude started to prioritize and not overlook the family roles and responsibilities, physical and emotional well-being.
