- - - - In our diamond, our goal was to approach a question from as many different ways as possible. We are asked to think of as many directions to go out finding an idea.
      - We often drew the comparison that our brains are like hot water in sinks, in that when we first turn the hot facet on in a sink, the first thing that shoots out is cold water. This indicated that in our thinking process starts out slow (we produce ideas that are likely to go nowhere). However, as we throw more and more ideas out into the diamond, the more creative we become and the greater chance that they will be used.
- - - - Jia Jiang's 100 Days of Rejection was an extremely fascinating concept in which Jiang's purpose for 100 Days was to go out and fail.
      - The video documents how he handled each failure and showed his resiliency as he prepared to go out and get rejected by someone again
      - Something I took away from this video is that the ways we perceive our failures may be entirely wrong. There may be lurking variables such as a dog that would dig up a flower as the reason why people rejected him.
        
        It was very important that he went out and asked why they rejected him. Each time, he asked the rejectee "Why?" so that he could learn and approach the next rejection with a different mindset.
        
        Sometimes people will actually accept what you offer or propose to them and the only way to discover what the outcome will be is to muscle up the courage and ask. The worst that could happen is that someone will tell you No, which is also good practice to learn to respond to
    - - Most of our discussion in class concerning resilience could be summarized within the mindset of failure so the only way that we could try to improve our ability to be resilient was through the TRADEATHON mini project.
        
        Drawing inspiration from Jia Jiang's 100 Days of Rejection and Jordan Belfort's ability to sell a pen in the Wolf of Wall Street, I sought out to remain resilient and seek out many different methods to trade from a mechanical pencil to something more valuable
        
        Throughout the process, I offered to trade my objects with the people around me and was told "No" almost every single time. However, instead of accepting defeat, I thought back to what Jiang did and asked "Why"
        
        To my surprise, there were legitimate reasons for many of the failed trades, such as an object was already promised to be traded or that they needed the object for a few days then they would be willing to trade.
        
        I also applied other mindsets such as ambiguity and divergence to construct additional uses for objects or thought up of a story that made my object worth having
      - Even though TRADEATHON is over, I am still going to actively participate in trading objects. Currently, I am looking to trade a broken car headlight to someone tech savvy that could repair the light as a potential lamp

        Characterized by or subject to rapid change or unpredicability
      - Uncertain
        
        Similar to volatility, there is no set outcome for something. There is always the opportunity for something different
      - Complex
        
        consisting of many different and connected parts that give a more detailed explanation to something
      - Ambigious
        
        Taken from the topic of ambiguity, there is no ONE way to do/approach everything
  - - - For the couple hours that I used my phone differently, I would never have imagined the amount of possibilities were there. I ate food off of my phone, I used it as a ping pong paddle, it was a pretend microphone for the concert in my dorm room, and I used it as a shield during a paper throwing war.
      - From this mini project, I have found myself using many different objects, such as eating utensils, chairs, hats, cups, and even hockey sticks, for many unlikely reasons as possible.
  - - - There are two truths about the mindset of ambiguity
        
        Ambiguity means that you cannot get it wrong
        
        Clarity is restrictive
      - Ambiguity is present frequently in situations where an individual or a group is faced with a fork in the road
        
        We are likely forced to think outside the box whenever we are stuck in a thinking process and question how to use things in ways or methods that they are not necessarily intended to be used for
      - Embrace the possibility of failure
        
        This will tie into my discussion about the mindset of failure. However, whenever dealing with ambiguity, we must recognize the fear of choosing the wrong direction. From this failure, we open more possibilities to think of more beneficial outcomes.

  - - - Genius Hour
        
        Our "Genius Hour" mini project opened my eyes to the world of curiosity for the first time in a long time.
        
        This assignment forced me to sit down and ponder about topics that I genuinely care about, but I had thought very little of
        
        By talking to experts in an area of entrepreneurship, I learned not only the stories and processes of starting up a business, but also I learned a lot about myself as a person and as a student.
        
        I was able to rekindle my childhood tendencies to ask questions about things that I had very little knowledge of. This assignment brought me back to Earth and really helped me understand that there are so many things in this world that I do not understand
    - - As a baby, we were fascinated by every little animate object we could get our hands on, focus on, listen to, or smell
      - As we grew older, we began to ask questions about all these animate objects to understand what they are and what their purpose is. Also during these years, we began to question inanimate objects and learn more about why things are the way they are.
      - There comes a point in time where individuals are extremely understanding of the purpose and reasoning for many essentials of life that we tend to drift off for our curious habits. Pretty soon, we stop questioning the little things, we do not seek the answers to things that do not pertain to us on a regular basis.
  - - - For example, in my school work, specifically Statistics, I always question why the answer is what it is. I break apart equations to fully grasp the concepts and apply them to other equations to expand my ability to solve complex problems.
      - I have also noticed that I have been more willing to practice my coding abilities in 104 by attempting to compute functions in many different combinations to determine if there is more than one way to get the same result.

- - - - Instead, failure becomes a motivator to fail even worse in the future to ultimately provide me with an explanation of how to finally do something the right way
  - - - I have lost 4 state championship finals
        
        As the years went on, each finals loss grew to impact me more and more. Instead of staying in a dark place, constantly thinking about losing something so important to me, I immediately went back to work improving my own game to help us reach that point next year
        
        Losing these 4 finals games, another aspect of failure was taught to me. Success is never guaranteed, it is always possible to always fail at something
        
        I also learned how beneficial it is to take some aspect of failure positively. Without the work that I put in over all those summers, even though I never won a state championship, I grew into the elite player that I am today.
      - I have placed last in academic competitions for school
        
        In high school, I participated in many academic and business organizations that competed in statewide events
        
        Some of my key defeats were with the Future Problem Solving Team and the Future Business Leaders of America in which I finished last if not close to last place in the competitions.
        
        Once more through these failures, I used the experience as motivation to inspire me to do better the next year and contribute more to the teams to increase the likelihood of placing in the top 3, if not winning, in which we did the following year
      - I have been rejected by the girl that I considered to be the one for me
        
        Reflect on what went wrong (without doing this, I would have gone months driving myself crazy about what was wrong about ME that prevented something from ever happening between us
        
        Through this refection, I came to the realization that I would have been miserable if something were to have ever happened between us because it was honestly a very one-sided affair in which I was blinded by my own interest in her
      - I have failed many tests, possibly including the most recent Statistics exam that I took
        
        Last night, I took a Statistics exam that I studied about 15 hours for. I was extremely confident in the material as I received an A in the course in high school.
        
        I started out the exam very strong, but the second I got to the Written questions my mind just went blank and I had completely forgot about all the material I had spent time studying
        
        Directly after the exam, I went straight back to the textbook to understand why I made the errors I did and to ensure that I do not miss the questions any time in the near future.
      - However, most importantly, I WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE
        
        I WILL ALWAYS LEARN FROM THESE FAILURES AND USE THEM AS INSPIRATION TO BE BETTER
  - - - I decided to ask my roommate to do my laundry and I was honesty petrified to go about asking him.
      - My roommate is not a fan of me for some reason and we literally had not said a word to one another for the first 2 2 1/2 weeks that we have been back in school so this was a bold move
      - After asking him, he passively went off at me explaining that he should not have to do anything that is not his responsibility and that I did not deserve to even ask him the question
      - I learned not only that my roommate might be slightly psychotic, but also that after this encounter I was more willing to approach failure in my daily life

      - Rejection: Getting rejected i.e. See example in Experiences
      - Learning Failure: Failure in which you benefit from failing i.e. see example above in Experiences
      - Version Failure: Trial and Error over and over again i.e. BUS 104 Labs
