Government create laws to establish rules and regulations that have to be followed by service providers and their staff. This enables care providers to deliver services in a controlled, structured and safe manner.

All health, social care and child care environments must maintain high levels of hygiene, both within settings and personal hygiene.
All care settings must comply with food safety regulations. Environmental health inspectors will check settings on a regular basis.
Risk assessments for equipment and activities must be carried out to ensure the safety of all who work and use the settings.
On practices
