1-Start numbering the parent chain in a way to give functional group the lowest number

4-Change ending of halogens by adding -O

Functional Group: Hydroxyl

3- Name any alkyl group and list its position

4- Name the parent chain according to number of carbon

2- Give the (OH) group the lowest number

5- Remove (e) and replace it by (ol)

1- Choose the longest chain

6- Identify the location of (OH) group using number before the parent chain

Ethers

3-End the name with the word ether

4- If (R) is benzene ring it will be called phenyl

2- Write them according to their alphabetical order

1- Name the two groups attached to the O as alkyl group

5- If the 2 R groups have the same name then name them once without prefix (di)

1- Find the longest chain

4- Change the ending of parent chain by -amine
