Ch 4
Derivatives of trig functions
Tan’x = sec^2x
Csc’x = -cscxcotx
Sec’x = secxtanx
Cos’x = -sinx
Sin’x = cos x
Cot’x = -csc^2x
Product rule
Y=uv
Y’=u’v+uv’
Y=uvw
Y’=u’vw+uv’w+uvw’
Derivative of first x second and first x derivative of the second
Derivatives of inverse trig functions
If f is invertible, then the inverse function is written as y = f^-1x
Make a right triangle in quadrant one to find the necessary trig function
Derivatives of Implicit Relations
Find the derivative of all parts of the equation, then solve for y’
If there are multiple y’ then distribution is needed
Derivative of a quotient
Y=u/v
Y’=(u’v-uv’)/v^2
