Formative
Definition: A Formative assessment is a process evaluation the teacher conducts on their students to evaluate their comprehension after a lesson.
Exit Ticket: Students will post in a sticky note what they learned in today's lesson before leaving.
Think Pair Share: Students will be asked a question and will have to go around the classroom and sharing their feedback on what they learned in today's lesson.
Interim/ Benchmark
Definition: A Interim/Benchmark assessment is an exam testing the student's overall knowledge on a curriculum according to grade level, in order to determine if they are on track with their learning.

District Benchmark: Students are tested based on the state's guidelines, to access what knowledge retention did the students learned over a bundle.
Semesters Exams: Students are tested on units previously learned, by the end of the semester.

Definition: A diagnostic assessment is a assessment given to students prior to teaching a lesson, in order to give the teacher feedback on what the students already know and how they should plan their lesson plans.
