Evaluate student learning at the end of a unit when compared to some sort of established standard or benchmark .Evaluate student learning at end of unit by comparing to standard benchmark

A form of testing to determine students' current progress or ability with a topic.
Examples: Pre assessments, post assessments
A type of testing to determine whether current methods of instruction have been effective. Often informs teachers of whether or not instructional methods need to be changed. Frequently used to monitor and adjust instruction in preparation for state tests.
Examples: District assessments, smaller term papers
A type of assessment dependent on students performing an activity, rather than answering questions.
