Definition:
A process of gathering evidence of student learning. This assessment allows the teacher to provide feedback and modify and adjusted instruction. This assessment also provides the teacher with immediately results and can be use with any lessons at any time.
Examples: Formal or informal
Formal: A 10 questions quiz
Informal: It can a teacher observation
Interim/Bench mark
Definition:
An assessment that is used to determinate if the students are on track.
Example: End of the 9th weeks grading cycle.
Example: End of the month I station test.
Summative
Definition: An assessment used to evaluate student learning, skill acquisition, and academic achievement at the conclusion of a defined instructional period typically at the end of a project, unit, course, semester, program, or school year
Example: AST or ACT
Example: End of a unit.
Diagnostic
Definition: This a pre assessment to check for prior knowledge's. It can be useful for the teacher to identify level of understanding.
Example: A pre assessment given to students before begin a unit or module.
Reading record- to check students process on reading levels.
Performance
Definition: An assessment that requires the students to create a task
Example: A project such creating a Goggle
Example: Oral Presentation, discussion
