Formative
Formative assessment are used to gage a students' knowledge of a content while instruction is going on. This type of assessment influence the progress and pacing of the instruction.
Exit Tickets: I will write an equation adding or subtracting decimals, and students will write down the way it is supposed to be aligned. ![Formative]

White Boards: As we work on adding and subtracting decimals students will do the problems in their white boards. As they attempt it on their own I will be seeing if there are any misconceptions to address.

Summative
Measures the amount of understanding a student has of a topic at the end of the unit or instruction.
EXAM: An exam at the end of the unit set to measure how proficient they are at adding and subtracting decimals.
EOC: Assessments the schools gives to measure students understanding at the end of a semester, or the course.
Interim/Benchmark
Interim assessments are used to assess students overall understanding in a content or grading period. It is used to assess if the student is on track or on "grade" level.
STAAR: The math STAAR test will be the benchmarks for adding and subtracting decimals.
CAA: These are interim assessments used to predict what the students will make on the STAAR. They are also used to assess how much they know of the content they are supposed to know by the end of the year.
