Diagnostic assessment is a type of pre-assessment that allows teachers to see students' individual strengths, weaknesses, knowledge, and skills prior to instruction to help guide lesson and curriculum planning.
Interim assessments are periodic assessments given to evaluate students learning progress and to project future assessment performance.
Formative
Summative
Formative assessment is an informal, low stake assessment that can be used to evaluate student comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress while the lesson or unit is in progress. The goal is to collect data to drive improvement in instruction and student learning.

Summative assessments is an evaluative, high stake assessment to evaluate student learning and skill acquisition at the end of the unit, course, etc.
Performance assessment is a task-oriented assessment to evaluate students mastery of topic/unit.

Think, Pair, Share: Teacher asks a question. The student writes down their response. The students are then paired up to share their answers to the question. The teacher walks around the classroom and listens to the student's answers.
Kahoot Quiz: Quiz is developed by teacher and given to students via technology.App tracks students name and score for teachers information.
Final Project: Project done at end of unit to summarize their understanding of the unit.
End of Unit: Assessment to check students mastery at the end of a unit.

Poster: Students create a poster to show understanding of concept in unit/lesson.
Bottle People: Students create "people" out of 2 liter bottles. The "people" will be connected to unit. Students will then write a summary about how the "people" are related to content.
Quizzez: Teacher can create quiz based on unit. Students take quiz on technology. Teacher records data to help plan unit teaching.
KWL Chart: Students will write what they know about the concept, what they want to learn and then what they learned at the end of the unit.
District Benchmark: Created and given by district to evaluate students grade level mastery.
STAAR: State testing in specific subjects to evaluate students grade level performance.
