you can't even look at the world without a value structure! everything is NOT equally important - you'd get lost in insignificant details! e.g. in a lecture by Peterson you could look at the walls forever, but you're there because you're a student, you're interested, you want to accomplish something with your life, maybe you want children, live as part of society etc. - and in this moment, sitting in his class, he's the gateway to fulfill this wish - but without the value structure showing us what we want, it would be impossible to concentrate on such a lecture because there's so many other fun things to do
