Formative Assessment: Assess the student's learning while it's still in progress. It is used during instruction to make modifications to instruction, gain insight to ability and monitor student progress.
Interim/Benchmark Assessment: More formal periodic testing through out the school year.
District Assessment: A test given by the district at the end of every 6 weeks.
Exit Tickets: Students answer a question that was discussed during class.
Prodigy: aligns curriculum with a fun game that challenges and assess students.
MAPS Testing: A computer test that tracks students growth. Given at the beginning of the year, middle of the year, and end of year.
Summative Assessment: High stakes testing to measure knowledge and skills following a sustained period of instruction or several instructional series.

Performance Assessment: Requires students to perform a task rather than just select a pre-made answer.
Essay: Student's are given a topic or question to write and show their knowledge about.
Project: Student's show their knowledge through a project.
Diagnostic Assessment: Allows the teacher to determine student's strengths & weaknesses, knowledge, and skills prior to instructions. Used to diagnose student difficulties and guide lesson and curriculum planing.
Pre-Test: Test given before instruction to asses what students already know about the topic.
Running Records: Assessment of student's reading level and comprehension.
