Textbook
This is actually the first time we receive three "thick" textbook, although it's very heavy and we have to take good care of it (the 50% mark penalty is scaring haha) but it's very helpful that we can always have a reliable source to refer when we need.
Suggestion : I knew that it's not lecturer call to have real textbook but soft copy version will very portable, but the textbook provided is still much appreciate.
Lecture
I would like to thank lecturer Mr Lim Tek Yong for delivering good quality lectures and also my peers who tried their best to prepare and give their lecture(presentation) for us. I also learned by preparing my part of the lecture and I hope my presentation will help for my peers to better understanding the topic.
Suggestion: I understand the intention that lecturers want us to prepare lecture and present in the class so that we can learn to work together in a group and also learn together with the class, but I would like to suggest that the presentation would be reduce into 1 presentation and lecturer would take over for more important topics, I would like to emphasize that lecturer did gives lectures and also would add on / rectify important points in our presentation, but my humble opinion is lecturer may gives like a few main topics on the first 3 or 4 weeks, then students may get a better idea of this subject before presenting, I would still like to thank lecturers for trying to change the way we have class so that we can learn more effectively.
Tutorial
I enjoy Mr Khairi tutorial a lot as it is fun yet useful. We get to learn how to do the assignment better by completing and discussing the exercise.
The e-learning sessions by Mr Khairi is also more challenging and intriguing.
Course Outline
NO FINAL EXAM
We are told that we're the first batch of students to not have final exam for this subject and this is really good for me as other subjects syllabus is big and required a lot of memorization, this subject allow me to learn from implementing what we learn straight to the real world through assignment and that is a new experience for me too.
Assignment
I learn a lot from the assignment in this subject, especially how important software requirements are in the whole software development process. I would like to thanks lecturer to push us to learn from the real world by getting requirements from the real stakeholders so that we would have a better mind of what requirements a stakeholders might really need and how we communicate with them to not only understand their needs but also discuss the details of the requirements and what requirement we might miss or modify the requirement to better suit their needs and finally document them after both party agreed on everything
People
Lecturer
I would like to thanks Mr Lim Tek Yong for delivering quality lecture to us throughout the course and make sure that we never miss any lecture, even when he is at oversea, he live streamed his lecture and this is also a quite unique experience.
Peers
My peers are also very excellent in presenting their work to us, the hard work to transform notes into lectures or even video is very much appreciated. They would also never hesitate to share info or discuss any problem with me just that we can learn together.
