Mucosa
Produce mucus, secretions, use enzymes, hormones, mucus. Absorb of food, protection from foreign invaders
Submucosa
Under mucosa, contains blood vessels, nerve fibers, lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes,(epithelial tissue)
Muscularis externa
smooth muscle, move food, mix digested food into smaller pieces
Serosa
visceral peritoneum outermost layer, connective tissue binds organs to surrounding tissues
Mouth

Salivary glands
exocrine glands secrete saliva. of mucus and a thin watery substance. amylase =enzyme breaks dowm carbohydrates.
Parotids
largest, beneath the ears, release saliva in upper molar region of mouth
Submandibulars
below the mandible back, release saliva in lower molar region in the mouth
Sublinguals
release saliva below tongue in the front, parotid gland tendency to flare cause swelling.
