Summative

Definition: is a form of testing that requires students to perform a task rather than select an answer from a ready-made list

Formative
Definition: a wide variety of methods that teachers use to conduct in-process evaluations of student comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress during a lesson, unit, or course
Think-Pair-Share: the teacher asks a question, students write down their answer. students are paired up and discuss their answers while the teacher moves around the classroom to listen to conversations
