Treatment
Provoked
15 mgs Rivaroxaban BD for 21 days, then 20mg daily for 6 months
Spontanous
15 mg Rivaroxaban BD for 21 days, then 20mg daily for 1 year
Pathophysiology
Pulmonary Embolism occur when there is an acute obstruction of the pulmonary artery or one of its branches. A common cause is a dislodged venous Thrombus, which forms an embolism in the artery supply blood to the lung.
