Ice plays the role
- the thick ice formed on the antarctic waters trapped the microscopic algae ( those the same kinds with phytoplankton tht drift in the water) inside, forms and also grow on the ice's underside. Krills feeds from this.
Once the summer comes
-the ice melt
- phytoplankton growth increases due to the extended daylight of summer.
