- - - - Intuition based systems cannot do long term predictions. Intuition also does not allow high precision predictions, for example in 1983, the Getty Museum received a state that was thought to be original, but the employees had a gut feeling , that there was something wrong with it, after extensive checks made by experts, it was declared fake. Here you can see, that even though they knew there was wrong with it, they could not pinpoint exactly what was wrong with it, so experts had to spend lots of time in checking every detail.
      - The reliability of intuition can be undermined by cognitive biases.
        
        Confirmation bias - we may only notice things that align with our beliefs and prejudices and ignore those that do not
        
        Affect heuristic - we my tend to base decisions on our emotions and feelings. We may intuitively prefer one option to another because we have a liking towards it, even if this option may be less reasonable.
        
        e.g. some people may find terrorism more threatening than climate change, as they associate stronger emotions with this, despite the fact that climate change can have a far greater impact on society
        
        Familiarity bias - people tend to prefer to do and believe things that they are accustomed to. This means that we will believe something not because it is true, but because we are familiar with it.
        
        e.g. brands use advertising to repeatedly inform us about certain products. This will create a sense of familiarity with the products, making it more likely for use to buy them.
        
        Fluency heuristic - people may choose to believe or do things simply because they are easy to process. We may be more attracted by beautiful falsehoods than abstract truths.
        
        Framing effect - we tend to interpret information differently depending on the way in which it is presented to us.
    - - As intuition does not include reasoning, it is quicker in providing us with knowledge, than reason. This means that in certain time-sensitive situations, intuition is reasonably reliable, as it is the only way of knowing to be able to provide adequately accurate information quickly enough.
      - Intuition can be based on experience. Expert intuition from professionals can therefore be relatively accurate.
  - - - A lot of human sciences involve analyzing data to predict changes in the future. Experienced scientists can rely on their intuition to accurately predict any changes. For example, Economics is a study of intuition really, because mostly economist have this intuition, that people will buy something based on certain factors, but they can never say that for certain, because the behavior of people is unpredictable.
    - - In maths there are many different paths to follow when manipulating data. Mathematicians use their intuition to figure out how to reach the answer the fastest. This saves time. Often the mathematicians do not use reasoning or learn any rules to do this, however rely on their gut feeling instead. The reliability of their gut feeling improves with experience.

Therefore, followers of the religion rely on their intuition to guess how they should ideally behave to be at the greatest advantage.
