Characters
Buck- The main character in this novel, one of the dogs taken away from his family, and traded to be trained to be a sled dog in Northern Canada. He has to overcome his fear of getting hurt because top dog takes all.
Curly- Bucks friend and companion, Curly was on the boat to the North with Buck. Unfortunately.
Unfortunately, Curly ended up getting half of his face torn up. He was killed by these injuries.
Spitz- The one of the antagonists in this novel, he's the "top dog" and the leader of the pack. He is the one always trying to hurt Buck, he doesn't want Buck to replace him as "top dog".

Judge Miller- Buck's owner, he owns a huge plantation in California's Santa Clara Valley.

Dave- The most dedicated sled dog, even if he was hurt he would still act like he's fine.

Francois- Bucks current owner, the one who had no doubt that Buck could kill Spitz

Perrault- Bucks current owner, (with Francois) who had faith that Buck could defeat Spitz.

Hal- One of the meanest owners that Buck had, who trained the dogs hard and barely let them rest
Hal and the sled team (except Buck) , along with Charles and Mercedes fell through the ice and died
Mercedes- One of the people who felt bad for the sled team, the barley got rest, or any for. Mercedes always tried to tell Hal to go easier on them, but he never listened. Mercedes was very dramatic. She was Hal's sister, and Charles wife.

Charles- Just listened to Hal most of the time, he thought Hal knew what was best.

Exposition- Buck was living a good life with the Judge and his family. But then Buck was sold from men from the North in exchange for money.
