Thank You, Ma'am

Theme: Structure
Example: The theme in Thank You Ma’am the theme is Forgiveness and Empathy, and the power of trust. After seeing that Roger is neglected and hungry, Mrs. Jones decides to forgive him and says “You Ought to be my son. I would teach you right from wrong”. With this she forgives Roger claiming that she like him has done wrong and she offers him empathy.
Effect: Theme in a story is the basic idea of what is being told in a story, and what the author wants the reader of his works to get out of it.
Dialect: Style
Example: In Thank you, Ma’am the characters seem to talk in a British Accent way with how they say things.
Effect: Dialogue in a story effects how you interpret things. The reason authors use dialogue in text is to let the reader know the characters emotions and actions.
Genre: Style
Example: The genre in Thank You, Ma'am is realism and Urban Fiction:
Effect: The genre is a form of style is usually determined by the subject, plot or setting of a story.
Exposition Structure:
Example:

The situation is that Roger tries to steal Mrs. Jones purse so he can buy some shoes but then he slips and falls when he grabs it.

Effect:
Exposition is used to introduce background information about characters or other things to the audience or readers.
Climax: Structure
Example: At the end of the story Mrs. Jones gives Roger 10 dollars so he can buy his blue suede shoes. “Now here, Take this ten dollars and buy yourself some blue suede shoes”-Mrs. Jones.
Effect: A climax when used in a story can help the reader understand the importance of the previously rising action where the conflict in the plot reaches its peak.
Point of View: Structure
Effect:The story is being told in the third person meaning that it is being seen from a outsider look. During the story we switch between the perspectives of Roger and Mrs Jones and see what they think and what they have to say.
Effect: The point of view in fiction determines what the reader knows about what happens in the events of the plot and who's telling the story.

Little Boy Crying
Theme: Structure
Example: The theme in Little Boy Crying is Childhood. There are many fairytale references and a lot of childish language.
Effect: Theme in a story is the basic idea of what is being told in a story, and what the author wants the reader of his works to get out of it.
Self-Expression: Style
Example: In the story Little Boy is describing his Traumas and what's happening to him as if it's from a fairy tail.
Effect: In literature Self Expression is the expression of a character thoughts and feelings and these feelings can be thought through words, actions and choice.
Dialect: Style
Example: In Little Boy Crying the language is clear and doesn’t contain any sort of slang or swearing or anything mature seeing how this is being told from the perspective of a little boy.

Example: The genre in Little Boy crying which is a poem is Non Fiction meaning that it did not happen.

Structure
Setting Structure:
Little Boy crying doesn’t seem to be set in any sort of specific place but it most likely is set inside of a house which is most likely where the boy is crying.
The story is set either in a city or some sort of block neighborhood. Despite this tho there is not much context in the story for us to get a clear grasp of where the short story is set.

Effect
The setting is what time a story takes place and where it takes place within a narrative either if the story takes place in nonfiction or fiction. As a literary element, the setting helps initiate the main backdrop and the mood for the story.
