- - - - Glycolosis is and anaerobic process in the cytoplasm (an area between the nucleus and plasma membrane), that breaks down glucose into two molecules of pyruvate which will be used in the Citric Acid Cycle after it is converted
        
        Pyruvate enters the matrix (gel-like material in the mitochondria) and is converted into acetyl-CoA.
        
        Carbon dioxide is released and used for photosynthesis
        
        The acetyl-CoA is then used in the Citric Acid Cycle (Krebs Cycle). The acetyl-CoA binds with a 4-carbon molecule and the carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen are given off as water and carbon dioxide through oxidation. This creates 8 NADH, 2 FADH2, and 2 ATP
        
        The electrons from NADH and FADH2 are used in the Electron Transport Chain to make ATP (energy) using the ATP Synthase Pump (this involves pumping hydrogen ions across the membrane which produces a concentration gradient. At the end of the chain, Oxygen accepts the electrons and takes up protons to form water

        The thylakoid (a flattened sac in the chloroplast ) absorbs the the photons and begin the process of Photosystem II
        
        Photosystem II removes electrons and passes them to the electron transport chain
        
        Electron Transport Chain moves electrons from a higher energy to a lower energy level
        
        As the Electron Chain moves the electrons the ATP Synthase Pump produces ATP molecules when the hydrogen ions accumulate and cross the gradient
        
        The electrons that are lost in Photosystem II are used in Photosystem 1 with NADP+ to create NADPH
        
        ATP (energy in the cells)
        
        The stroma is an area in the chloroplast where the Calvin Cycle occurs and does not require light to occur
        
        Calvin Cycle uses the products of light reactions (ATP and NADPH) to synthesize Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Water (H20) into a carbohydrate in the form of sugar
