Anatomy of the heart

Left Ventricle
one of the four chambers of the heart and located in the lower left portion. The thickest of the four chambers and is responsible for pumping oxygenated blood throughout the rest of the body.
Right Ventricle
one of the four chambers of the heart. Pumps deoxygenated blood through the pulmonary valve to the pulmonary artery.
Aorta
largest artery in the body, receives blood from the left ventricle to be pumped out of the heart
Pulmonary trunk
Major vessel of the heart and branches off to the right and left pulmonary arteries which leads to the lungs
