Tuckamans model of group development
performing
it is possible for some teams to reach the performing stage. These high-performing teams are able to function as a unit as they find ways to get the job done smoothly and effectively without inappropriate conflict or the need for external supervision. By this time, they are motivated and knowledgeable. The team members are now competent, autonomous and able to handle this decision-making process without supervision. Dissent is expected and allowed as long as it is channeled through means acceptable to the team.
Adjourning
This is when the team conducts an assessment of the year and implement plans for transitioning roles and recognising members' contributions.
Norming
Familiarising your team after having arguments.
the team has one goal come up with a mutual plan for the team at this stage
some may have to give up their own ideas in orders to agree with other members of the group in order to make the team function
team members take responsibility and have an ambition to work for the success of the team's goals
Storming
arguing with leaders
the team members will resolve their differences and members will be able to participate with each other more comfortably.
the storming stage is necessary to the growth of the team
Forming
coming together to form a team.
This is the first stage of the team building phase.
This is where the team meets and learns about opportunities and challenges, and then agrees on goals.
