Koch was a German army doctor who became interested in microbiology after he was given a microscope for his 29th birthday
He read Pasteurs book and was then inspired to research the theory more. He was granted money by the German government to help set up his laboratory
Koch went "Microbe hunting" and in 1876, he discovered the anthrax bacteria
