        Plausibility: How do we justify common schooling and uncommon schooling if our goal in education is equal treatment of all students?

      - Social efficiency focuses on making workers, opposed to social mobility who makes winners
      - "For while social efficiency has subordinated schooling to the human capital demands of the economy, giving educational primacy to the vocational use value of school learning, the social mobility goal has turned schooling into a cultural commodity, the value of which arises less from its intrinsic usefulness that from its exchangeability." (p. 67)

    - - Dissatisfaction: I hate this idea. I know a lot of people who have gotten a public education, myself included, and turned out just fine.
  - - - Plausibility: I don't understand how this works? We can choose whatever profession we want. We choose the major ourselves when entering college and the school can't tell you differently.

    - - Plausibility: Separating students by ability is not effective. The school system should try to make more inclusive classrooms that anyone can learn in. Separating students by ability leaves some students unmotivated to be better and leads other to believe they don't have the ability to learn more.
