Flowering Plants and Seeds
Cross pollination is where pollen from one plant is transfered to the stigma of another plant.
Plants have many ways to disperse their seeds such as, wind, water, animals, and mechanical propulsion.
Types of Cells
Prokaryotic Cells
Cells that are only unicellular and don't have nucleus bound membrane
Prokaryotic cells are mostly found in bacteria
Eukartotic Cells
Cells that can be multicellular or unicellular and have nucleus bound membrane.
Cells that can mainly be found in animals, fungi, plants, and protists
Cell Division
Mitosis
Body cell division in which the nucleus divides containing the same number of chromosomes (ends with 2 cells)
Daughter cells are identical to the parent cells
Meiosis
A type of cell division that results in four daughter cells each with half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell as in the production of gametes(sex cells) and plant spores through sexual reproduction.
Daughter cells are different from the parent cells
Heredity
Phenotype
An organisms physical appearance or visible traits
Phenotype is the result of what the genotype is
Passing of traits from parent to offspring
Genotype
An organisms genetic makeup or allele combinations
Genotype is what makes the outcome of the phenotype
