Stratum Granulosm: Superior to the Stratum Spinosm, Granules in cells that produce and secrete a glycolipid which is a water proofing agent. Helps prevent loss of water through skin.
Stratum Spinosm: Superior to the Stratum Basle, mostly keratinocytes, protective layer, spines between the cells held together by desmosomes when pulled apart.

Stratum Lucidum: Found only in thick skin. Think Skin is only found in the palms of our hands and soles of our feet.
