Multiple Intelligence Assessment
Spatial Intelligence
Learn well with visual cues
Enjoy drawing
Remember things visually
Good at estimating measurements etc.
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I have very strong skills and accuracy in terms of estimating measurements and layout and often start planning without using a ruler
I learn best using visuals to connect my understanding
Interpersonal Intelligence
Like to talk
Good social skills
Enjoy developing ideas and learning from others
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I am able to start conversations easily, even in new situations. Although I tend to stay with a small group of closer friends, I am also comfortable socializing with others outside of my immediate circle
I sometimes feel hesitant to introduce myself
I would consider myself a generally friendly and approachable person.
Intrapersonal Intelligence
Learning by trial and error
Will take the time to reflect on a situation and information before giving a response or making a decision
Preference for individual work over groupwork
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I tend to complete schoolwork individually or in partners rather than large groups
I take the time to analyse my option in order to make an informed and conscious decision. I may also ask to be given more time to make a decision instead of giving an answer on the spot
I get satisfaction in solving problems by myself, trying various solutions
I often take time to reflect on my actions regardless of whether they were hurtful or not
I may also over-analyse my words and actions, as well as those of others
Myers-Briggs Personality Test (ISTP-T)
Weaknesses of a Virtuoso
Stubborn
Criticism of habits, ideas create irritation
May choose to ignore the 'flow' and choose their own direction without sensitivity or apology
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
Once I have a clear idea, it is sometimes difficult for me to change it based on feedback or incorporate the ideas of others. In this way I am stubborn, as once I have a clear vision of what I want to do it is difficult to sway me in another direction.
Easily bored
Dislike of commitment
Less reliable for long-term commitments
However, once I make a commitment to someone or a program, I honor this commitment as I believe not doing so would be unjust
Prefer to take things day-by-day
Will move on quickly to something more interesting, do not always see through a project
Private and reserved
Difficult to get to know
May prefer silence over small talk
Insensitive
Use logic when approaching situations requiring empathy and emotional sensitivity
May not say any reassuring/comforting words at all
Words will not "come out right" and may be interpreted differently than they were intended
'Risky' behaviour
Combination of stubborness, insensitivity, focus on the moment and easy boredom
May escalate conflict for 'fun'
Unnecessary and unhelpful boundary pushing out of curiosity
Positive characteristics of a "Virtuoso' personality type
Optimistic and energetic
Often preoccupied with many projects at a single time
Generally cheerful and good-natured
Prefer to adapt as the situation progresses; "going with the flow"
Cope well with stress
When planning I will create a general outline and timeline to plan my work, but leave a lot of room for unexpected setbacks and regard my plan as always adjustable
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
While working on homework I will often start on all of my assignments at once and skip between all of them, completing small portions of each at a time
Spontaneous and rational
Easily adjust mindsets to fit new situations
Flexible and versatile
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I am comfortable with and cope with change well
I am able to easily adjust to change and do not get stressed easily
I tend to have a "go with the flow" mindset and prioritize my health and well being over work
If I feel an excess of stress, I will get sleep instead of cramming to complete an assignment late into the night
While I believe that working hard it very important, I also believe that at this point in my life my well-being and happiness is most important
Creative and practical
Kinesthetic learners
Imaginative in terms of practical things, mechanics and crafts
Are able to easily execute/create ideas and designs
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I do not completely identify with these results, as I rarely experiment with building my ideas or designs on my own time, nor am I a kinesthetic learner.
I am, however, strong in creating and then executing ideas when assigned. Although I do not build or create using my spare time, I do enjoy the process and projects requiring a product.
Adaptable and work well under pressure
Stay relaxed under pressure and cope with unpredictability well
Do not worry too much about the future
"Naturals" in crisis situations
Enjoy small physical risks
Not hesitant to 'get their hands dirty' when a situation requires it
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
Although I disagree with the test results indicating I do not worry about the future, my general mindset when approaching difficult situations it to take it a step at a time. There is rarely very serious consequences that accompany the pressure associated with schoolwork, so I know that if I do not perform as well as I had hoped on a specific assignment it is not the end-all-be-all of my academic career.
I prefer to look at the "bigger picture" when making decisions
VIA Character Strengths Assessment
Highest Ranked Character Traits
Humility
Letting one's accomplishments speak for themselves
Viewing oneself as of equal importance to others
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
One of my biggest pet peeves is people who are not able to see past themselves and acknowledge the strengths of others. I am irritated by this since in order to build our own character we must learn from others and be aware that those around us may have certain character traits that are stronger than our own.
I am a strong believer that the actions and words are the best expressions of one's character. Therefore, it is important not to regard yourself as superior to others as by doing so it is a reflection of your own poor character and insecurities.
Humour
Liking to laugh and tease, being able to see the 'light' side of a situation
Making jokes and bringing smiles to others
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I believe that in certain tough situations approaching them with a humorous manner may make them more bearable.
I make an effort to be a generally positive version of myself that people choose to work with, trust and help along the way and expect myself to do the same with those around me. I am able to do this by using humor to comfort others.
Grattitude
Being aware of the good things that happen
Taking time and being able to express thanks
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
Gratitude is one of my highest values, as I believe that pracitiving appreciation for the good in our lives not only benefits ourselves but also those around us.
Social Intelligence
Knowing what to do in social situations, what makes others 'tick'
Being aware of others' feelings, motives and knowing oneself
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I believe I have a generally good sense of the emotions of others, and try my best to support them when not at their best
Prudence
Making decisions carefully
Not saying or doing anything that may be regretted later
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I am also careful when responding in stressful situations since I know that pressure can cloud my judgement, leading me to say things I do not intend or think through thoroughly
I try my best to think through my words and actions to avoid contributing hurtful or unhelpful comments if I misread a situation.
I believe that prudence was listed as my strongest personality trait since I take the time to reflect on my actions and then learn from my past mistakes.
Lowest Ranked Character Traits
Curiosity
Taking interest in ongoing experience for its own sake
Exploring and discovering
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I do not enjoying exploring as much as a teen and often prefer to have the answers or explanations given to me
After beginning high school I found I did not have the time to explore new areas of interest due to the lack of spare time I had. As a result I have noticed that my sense of curiosity is no longer as strong as it once was, and that I view things from a more logical point of view now.
Leadership
Maintaining good relations within a group
Encouraging others to get things done
Organizing activities and seeing that they happen
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
In group assignments I will help to delegate tasks and keep everyone on track, but the approach is more democratic as I expect the same of others
Although I would not consider myself a poor leader, my approach to leadership is more as a follower. The questions asked by the test all characterized the leadership trait as being assertive and the organizer of a group. I believe I demonstrate leadership in a different way, by team-building and maintaining good relations
Self-regulation
Controlling appetites and emotions
Regulating what one does and feels
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I am easily distracted and may also look for an excuse not to work
I often procrastinate and reward myself before completing my work
Spirituality
Having coherent beliefs about the higher purpose and meaning on the universe
Knowing where one fit within a large scheme
Having beliefs about purpose that shape conduct and provide comfort
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
Although I feel a disconnect with my spirituality, if I have any at all, I often find myself contemplating my own purpose
I have had many conversation with others about finding their purpose in life to help make large decisions, and do often find comfort in their words.
Even though I do not identify as a spiritual person, I do agree with the definition and description provided by the VIA Character Strengths test; I do not believe in a higher purpose but more finding how I personally can contribute to something much larger than myself
Love
Relationships were sharing and caring are reciprocated
Valuing close relationships
Connections and observations in real-life scenarios
I was somewhat surprised to see love as one of my lower character traits, as I believe that I do not have difficulty expressing appreciation for those I love.
Sometimes I find it difficult to fully express how much family and friends mean to me in words, which may have give 'love' a lower ranking in my results. I prefer to show my gratitude through actions.
Emotional Intelligence Test (AEDW)
Weaknesses
Have difficulty resolving conflicts and dealing with everyone's wills
Struggle with dealing with rush of emotions
Rarely try to reach higher goals than those initially set (not over-achievers)
WIll underestimate themselves
Strengths
Able to manage emotions easily
Trust their judgements and are not easily influenced by others
Strong people skills
Able to recognize changes in behaviour
Good intuition about others' intentions and mood
Flexible, "low-key"
Good listeners
