Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austen
Narrator of the book
Initially, the book seemed to be in third person ominiscient, but mostly limited to Elizabeth's perspective
In the very final chapter of the book, Jane Austen uses first person to talk about her wishes of the character's epilogue
Theme
The theme regards the title on the subjects of pride and prejudice of a character and against a character.
Jane Austen demonstrates how too much pride can lead to prejudiced and incorrect judgments against others and yourself.
By looking at the relationship Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, it can be seen that an excess of pride in oneself leads to prejudiced judgments against others; however, a lack of pride also leads to misunderstanding as seen in the relationship between Jane and Mr. Bingley. Austen shows that pride is a worthy character trait that can lead to damaging consequences if utilized wrong.
By looking at Elizabeth's character early on, it can be seen that Elizabeth's pride in analyzing others leads her to misinterpretations of Mr. Darcy's character.

There are different names for the same places in which events take place... I'm assuming some of them are like area names while the others are town names?
In my copy of the book, one of the places most frequently talked about is "--------shire." Why is there a "--------" preceding shire?
