All but three are female; most of these are married to professionals or men in business; for example, one fifth-grade teacher was married to a stockbroker, another to a lawyer; one second-grade teacher was married to an "accountant with an M.A. in business," the other to a psychologist.
        
        Fruitfulness Item: Before reading this article I had never considered that the economic class of a teacher had a bearing on how they interacted with students. This article helped me see that teacher typically relate better to students from their same economic class. This explains why most teachers relate better to middle-class students than working-class students and shows another way the system is often unfair towards working-class students
