The UN relies on annual contributions from its more wealthier member states to fund its operations, this is about $20 billion per annum (including contributions for food programs and peacekeeping).

GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Consists of all 193 member states, each having a vote
On important issues a two/thirds majority of those present and voting is required; other questions require a simple majority vote but all discussions are non-binding
