Task Delegation
1) Pipings and instrumentations team
Pipings and instrumentations responsible for: The sizing is for all units (reactors, columns, tanks, HE, pumps, filters, etc.) except for pipes and control instrumentations.

Reactors and heat exchanger team responsible for: 1) Sizing and materials for reactors and heat exchangers. 2) Handle all utilities

3) Purification team
Purification responsible for: 1) sizing and materials for all purification unit operations 2) conduct further studies into the purification method

1) Executive Summary
Objective, consequence/significance, area for improvement, conclusion (one full page)
2) Literature Review + analysis of INITIAL DESIGN
Analysis and justify why we chose that reaction (reuse interim)
4) Determination of DOMINANT design variables (list them in table form with reasons
WRT our chemical pathway, what variable (Temp, Pressure?) matters most and at WHEN? Why?
5) Heat Integration Analysis and Justify why not feasible (by Wei Xuan)
Includes references. Energy cost /water cost/ equiptment cost/ cost of maintainence of added equiptment, added labour cost etc Why less cheap? Even if there is savings but very little saving, we can justify with administration cost/efficiency needed to ensure the added equiptment/labour as something to avoid
6) Material Balance TABLE
Double confirm, it is overall, FOR final report, right?
Can reuse interim?
3) Process Description (reuse interim+ increase details)
7) Summary of operation criteria (e.g., kg feed per kg product, steam consumption per kg product, conversion, selectivity, etc.)
8) Summary of major equipment sizing + costing (table format?)
9) Detailed design (P&ID) and HAZOP of either reactor or distillation column
10) Optimized PFD before heat integration (A3 size)
11) PFD with heat integration (A3 size)

12) Maximum no. of pages: 30 pages (all inclusive) + PFD
FOCUS
1) Minimizing the waste solvents if possible - Smaller reactors and downstream capacity.
2) Look for recycling option to reduce waste
3) Design and size MAJOR UNIT OPERATION
4) Optimization to reduce utilities - HEN and etc.
5) Economics taking into account equipment, construction, utilities and waste disposal cost.
