By this I mean that I think the attitudes of different places, speaking generally of course, are indicative of the culture of a place. For example, (and by the way i'm no expert, and these are generalizations), Japanese and Korean culture places great importance in respecting your elders, where more western cultures are relaxed. Although I can't give specific examples beyond broad statements, a country that is more conservative will have a culture that is less tolerant to the LGBT community, and more liberal countries tend to be more accepting. these attitudes rub off on the people who live in this area, creating a cultural attitude towards certain things.
