Bob
Main Soc, most popular and comes from a rich family. According to Cherry Bob was looking for someone to say no to him because his parents spoiled him so much

Cherry
The point of having Cherry in the book is to show that there is a bridge between the rich and the poor and that people just needed to cross it. Cherry is friends with ponyboy
David
David is part of Bob and Randy's gang and tries to drown Ponyboy. he is not mentioned much in the book but saying that he is part of their gang he is definitely a Soc
Greasers
Dally
Dally is the most greaseriest greaser. Dally is very tough and gets into a lot of fights. he is a greaser because he is poor, violent, and has been arrested multiple times
Two-bit
Two-bit is funny and steals a lot. he thinks everything is a joke and is mostly a greaser because of how much he steals
Darry
Darry is very hard working and at points seems to be almost a Soc. the main thing that makes him a greaser is that he comes from a poor family and he is friends with the whole gang who are all greasers
Johnny
Johnny acts younger than all of the other greasers and gets beat up a lot as well. Johnny is mostly a greaser because he is poor and his parents abuse him. Johnny is often nervous and one of the main characters of this book
Soda
Soda is mostly a greaser because he comes from a poor family and is part of the gang. Soda is good looking and very likeable
Steve
Steve is a greaser because he is poor and his dad hates him. His dad is also an alcoholic and Steve hates Ponyboy
Ponyboy
pony boy is mostly a greaser because he comes from a poor family. he gets good grades in school and likes to read which seperates him from most of the other greasers. Ponyboy also is the youngest greaser so he gets beat up a lot by Socs
